Zoo time!

We're out of the Sea category and on to Zoo. Our department has acually been struggling with the girlie stuff a bit, so we're all having to dig deep.

The catalog has been sent out and should be in from the printer tomorrow. Can't wait to show all the new gift stuff!

Too Busy!

I've been too busy to post lately. Been working nonstop on the new catalog. The bulk of it is done so hopefully I'll get back to posting soon.

It's catalog time!

One of the things I do at work is shoot our products for the catalogs. I'm admittedly not terribly qualified. I took one black and white photography class in college, but it didn't even cover using the flash. Now I have those professional softbox lights and just trial and error training. They decided to bring the photography in house, and I've been doing it for about a year and a half now. The best thing going for me is the fact that I'm a perfectionist. I'll stand there and move a product a quarter of an inch this way and that until I'm satisfied. It has gotten me very interested in photography though. I'm saving up for my own canon digital rebel.

I'm already done with most of the individual product shots. I probably won't post them until the new catalog goes out. These are just a couple of displays I shot.

Buttons

These are some buttons I did that are a part of our gift line. I love the Sassy Cat, but I think that Creepy is my favorite. It makes me smile!

Dinos are Manly

Well, manly for pre-schoolers anyway. This way a little toddler tee I did last season. I hope it posts correctly. I was having a little trouble with errors yesterday.

Man, I'm realizing how girlie all these designs are. I'll have to upload something for boys next time!

Laid back day

The springtime allergies are really starting to get to me. I'm on some allegra today and its made me feel a bit out of it. Perhaps it been in a good way though because I was so relaxed all day. Felt stress free! Yea!

Among other things I did another attempt for a mermaid today. This one is for toddlers. I haven't decided if I'm going to use the one with the gradients and eyes closed, or the one with flat color and eyes open. We do souvenier t-shirts for zoos and aquariums. I only work on that line seasonaly, but it started a few weeks ago. So for now there will be many little sea creatures and zoo animals flitting across my screen.

This mermaid was dubbed too hot for kids. I'll have to work on making more wholesome shell bikinis.

I've really been wanting to start a blog for some time now. I love to visit other artist's blogs and now I can share some of my own stuff! Exciting! I work for a children's product design company. I do lots of gift products and simple designs well suited for applique or sceenprint. We do things like backpacks, frames, infant rompers & bibs, etc. My favorite work is for infants and toddlers.
